Environmental and climate technologies of the future

In this course we focus on the environmental and climate technologies of the future. We educate about their scientific and innovative nature, and how they have effect in the society due to the environmental and climate impact that they contribute to. We focus on relevant technologies from which we have own experience in leading research areas and collaborations. We will also share practical experiences and guidelines how the technologies can come to usefulness by entrepreneurship and business. The business from research, the impact of research.

The participants will gain a comprehensive understanding by studying the environmental and climate technologies from various aspects such as engineering, innovation management, business development, societal change, biodiversity.

Online via Zoom or physical at Ulrika Campus, Sweden. The course will be given by Mikael Syväjärvi and there will be invited lecturers. The course is based on modules. We can adapt the course content depending on your organizations or projects interest. We can expand modules if some aspect is more useful, or replace. Modify to fit your budget. This courses provides participants insights in environmental and climate technologies. The participants will be familiar with the emerging technologies which are developed in R&D. Participation creates an awareness about the future to some regarding innovation and technologies.

The course provides learnings that is emphasizing practical knowledge.

The general concept is that there are several lectures in a module. At each lecture there is an interactive discussion. In such way we take advantage of each participants experience and interest to create more awareness and community activity.

Message from Mikael about the course:

During several years I was running the course ”Future Environmental Technologies” at university. I initiated the independent course and developed it. It aimed at individuals with interest in the environment. It was not necessary to be expert in a topic, or passed previous courses to come to this. Everyone was invited who were eligible to study at university (basically passed senior high school, gymnasium).

Environmental and climate education is essential for the future. The young generation must have as much knowledge as possible from early stage. I have several own experiences in energy and environment, collaborated or met many leading individuals in environment, energy and climate.

We can support that by transfer of knowledge from our experiences. We can reach awareness using a multidisciplinary training by using experts in our Ulrika innovation ecosystem. That offers a community engagement which is truly unique due to our platform in research and education. We can integrate expertize to the educational approach. That address scientific understanding and provide tools to make practical implementation of research to business.
